Instructions will include the use of the Anatomage Table, lecture presentations, and interactive discussions to enhance learner understanding of human anatomy and physiological function. The adjunct will teach one day per week on campus and will provide academic mentoring as needed. Course content will align with University and PA curriculum standards and the PA Program's mission, vision, values, and competencies.Ottawa University is accepting applications for potential openings for Adjunct Instructor positions.The need for these positions is undetermined at this time and is dependent on operational need including enrollment and staffingIfa need arises, the department will select candidates from this general adjunct posting. We do post adjunct instructor positions for specific areas and needs periodically and you will need to apply as you see those become available.If you are interested in teaching in a university setting, it can be helpful to gain experience as an adjunct instructor. Many of our adjunct instructors hold a full-time career elsewhere, and choose to teach in ourevening, weekend, and online programs so that they may have the opportunity to teach students.Ottawa University employs adjunct instructors to teach undergraduate/graduate level coursework for its adult campuses. Each location has an Academic Coordinator/Academic Dean dedicated to hiring for adjunct teaching responsibilities.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOBDeliver in-person anatomy and physiology instruction using the Anatomage Table, lectures, and interactive learning strategies.Utilize 3D visualization and virtual dissection technology to support anatomy education.Reinforce anatomical and physiology concepts through case-based learning relevant to clinical practice.Maintain high teaching standards using engaging pedagogy and best practices in graduate medical education.Stay current in anatomy and physiology education, including technology-enhanced teaching methods.Evaluate learner performance through quizzes, exams, and practical assessments.Provide remediation instruction as needed to support learner success.Complete course evaluations and provide feedback for continuous improvement.Offer academic guidance to learners and identify opportunities for success.Support learner retention efforts.Follow the standardized course syllabus while integrating professional expertise into classroom delivery.Provide contact information and maintain accessibility for learners during the course term.Create a supportive and learner-centered learning environment.Promote Ottawa University to the community and use Ottawa.edu email for communications.Other duties as assignedSTANDARD UNIVERSITY EXPECTATIONS:Model and encourage collaboration among University departments assuring effective communication and operations.Understand the University's policies and, procedures, and exercise good judgment accordingly. If a PA must be NCCPA-certified and eligible for a Kansas or Missouri license. MD, DO, or APRN must be eligible for a Kansas or Missouri license.REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: (experience based on requirements in role and are consistent with business necessity):Demonstrated expertise in human anatomy with experience teaching at the graduate medical or physician assistant education level.• Prior teaching experience using cadaveric dissection, prosection, or advanced anatomy visualization tools (e.g., Anatomage Table) in an accredited medical or PA program preferred.• Strong understanding of clinically relevant anatomy and ability to integrate anatomical concepts with patient care examples.• Experience developing and delivering lectures, laboratory sessions, and assessments for adult learners in a medical education setting.• Familiarity with active learning strategies, case-based teaching, and technology-enhanced instruction in anatomy.ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:List required and/or preferred certification, industry specific requirements, required or preferred use of equipment, and all necessary job skills, abilities, and knowledge competencies)Provide a list of items below:Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.Ability to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.Program faculty must be qualified through academic preparation and/or experience to teachanatomy and physiology.
