The Extended Care Teacher will be accountable for the care and supervision of children during the period before and after the school day has ended. Their primary responsibilities are the safety and well-being of children in their care, but they also provide some instruction or educational support.Essential FunctionsSupervision and safety of each student both indoors and outdoors Activity Planning and Implementation: Develop age-appropriate activities, including games, crafts, and educational experiences. Academic Support assists students with homework, providing guidance and encouragement. Communication and Collaboration maintain open communication with parents, teachers, and other staff. A positive environment creates a supportive and inclusive atmosphere that fosters social and emotional development. Administrative Tasks maintain records, complete necessary paperwork, and adhere to program guidelines. Professional Development, participating in ongoing training, workshops, and staff meetings. Position Qualifications90 hours and or experience working with preschool and school-age children Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education. Strong organizational, communication, and classroom management skills. Patience, enthusiasm, and genuine love for working with children Ability to work independently and as part of a team Knowledge of child development and best practices CPR and First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
