Production Services Site Reliability EngineerSan Diego, California, United States Software and ServicesDescriptionAs a Production Services Site Reliability Engineer, responsibilities include:Configuration and monitoring of on-prem and cloud-based dependenciesAutomate continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) pipelinesMaintain staging and production environments with goal of maximizing uptimesImplement observability of systems for monitoring, alerting, and metrics reportingGenerate reports regarding service metrics on performance, availability, and reliabilityChampion practices regarding change control management and incident responseA successful Production Services Site Reliability Engineer will be expected to:Proactively communicate status of Atlassian services to stakeholders and follow through on time-sensitive tasksDemonstrate willingness to ask for clarification and increase awareness of the larger contextExplore solutions to problems, evaluate risk vs reward, then execute best approachCommunicate asynchronously with a global team across multiple timezonesDocument new processes or update existing documentation pagesEager and curious to learn across multiple technology stacksMinimum QualificationsB.S. in Computer Science or related work experiencePassion in building reliable, scalable, and performant distributed systemsUnderstanding of distributed systems with respect to application, networking, and securitySRE or Dev/Ops experience in managing customer-facing systems in a 24/7 environmentExperience in managing and monitoring fleets of Unix-like systems or container platformsPreferred QualificationsExcellent judgment and integrity with ability to make timely and sound decisionsAbility to anticipate the needs of others and adapt to changing conditionsAdditional RequirementsDesired, but not required, skills and experiences:Experience as SCM administrator (e.g. GitHub, or similar)Experience with container platforms (e.g. Docker, or similar)Experience with monitoring and alerting (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, or similar)Experience with data analysis (e.g. Splunk, or similar)At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base pay range for this role is between $134,800 and $245,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
