We are seeking a GTS Corporate Applications Solution Architect to join our GTS Corporate Applications team and partner with our business customers across the Corporate division. In this role, you will identify, shape, and deliver solutions that meet business needs and drive measurable value for Gallagher.As an applications solution architect, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery, standardization, quality, and cost-effectiveness of IT solutions, applications, and services across our business environment. You will build strong relationships with IT and Corporate stakeholders, to facilitate the adoption of new technologies and ensure alignment with Gallagher’s standards and policies.The applications solution architect will have a broad knowledge and expertise across multiple domains. They will have a deep knowledge into Corporate Application domains, but broad expertise to establish solutions that span multiple domains, including Corporate as well as integrations with other division applications. The application solution architect will partner with technical/domain architects to discuss and validate their proposed solutions. The applications solution architect will work with Enterprise Architects to align with strategic objectives and discuss opportunities for application consolidation and rationalization.The applications solution architect must gain a deep understanding of the organization's current systems and processes. They need to analyze the existing infrastructure, applications, and data to identify areas for improvement.Based on their analysis, the applications solution architect must identify areas where new solutions can be implemented to improve the organization's efficiency, productivity, and profitability.Once the areas for improvement have been identified, the applications solution architect must develop a plan to implement new solutions. This plan should include timelines, budgets, and resource requirements.The applications solution architect must ensure that the new solution is scalable and can handle future growth and expansion. They must consider factors such as data volume, user load, and system performance.The applications solution architect must ensure that the new solution is secure and meets the organization's security requirements. They must consider factors such as data privacy, access control, and compliance regulations.The applications solution architect must ensure that the new solution meets the needs of all stakeholders, including end-users, management, and IT staff. They must consider factors such as usability, functionality, and ease of maintenance.The applications solution architect must work closely with project managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure that the solution is delivered on time and within budget. They must provide guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle.The applications solution architect must stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in their field. They must evaluate new technologies and make recommendations for future improvements to the organization's systems and processes.The applications solution architect will coordinate multiple projects, where they apply their domain expertise to assess technologies and design solutions with the support of GTS Corporate Applications managers, and implement solutions that meet the needs of the project. The applications solution architect works with Enterprise Architects to ensure that product and technology choices align to strategic capabilities and investment, and present to the Strategic Architecture Review Board (SARB) when required.How you'll make an impactResponsibilities:Utilize your knowledge of Corporate Applications, including Accounting, Finance, Treasury, Procurement, Audit, Compliance, and Legal.Designing and implementing technical solutions that align with the organization's business requirements and goals.Assessing and analyzing the organization's current technical infrastructure and systems to identify areas for improvement and optimization.Developing technical architectures and roadmaps that outline the steps needed to achieve the desired state, including recommendations for new technologies, upgrades, and system integrations.Ensuring that technical solutions are scalable, secure, and efficient by evaluating different options and selecting those that meet the organization's needs.Collaborating with stakeholders, including business leaders, developers, and IT teams, to understand their requirements and translate them into technical specifications.Providing technical guidance and expertise to project teams throughout the implementation process, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.Assist business customers in adopting new third-party technology solutions in line with Gallagher standards.Conducting research and staying up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.Troubleshooting technical issues and providing support to resolve system failures or performance problems.Documenting technical architectures, designs, and processes to ensure clarity and maintain a knowledge base for future reference.Collaborating with other architects, such as enterprise architects and solution architects, to ensure alignment and integration of technical solutions within the overall enterprise architecture framework.Provide an overview of current in-house systems and assess the viability of incoming applications.Understand the full service transition from project to business-as-usual support lifecycle.Govern IT investment across business and systems change portfolios to ensure compliance with IT strategy, standards, and policies.Demonstrate the value of technology to the business and govern solution implementations to ensure security, compliance, and reliability.Promote the reuse of existing solutions, adherence to standards, and alignment with policy to reduce technical design debt.Perform as a valued member of the technology team, contributing significantly to the success of the wider IT agenda.Carry out duties in accordance with internal policies, procedures, applicable laws, regulations, and Gallagher’s shared values.Provide detailed and summary status reporting to GTS Corporate Applications Senior DirectorAbout YouRequired:8+ years experience as a Corporate Application Architect, including both on-premises and cloud-based applications.Experience working in large enterprises with domestic and international locationsBachelor’s Degree in computer science, systems analysis or a related study, or equivalent experiencePrevious experience in a Business Analysis/Architecture/Designer environmentFantastic strategy and roadmap production skillsExcellent analysis and design capabilitiesExcellent computer literacy skillsStrong PC skills, including experience using MS Office Products, especially ExcelExcellent verbal and written communication skillsDesired:Experience working with off-shore or remote development/support teamsPrior Accounting & Finance roadmap experience preferred.Understanding of systems development and project delivery life cyclesWork Traits:Excellent organization skillsStrong attention to detailAbility to prioritize and manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneouslyAbility to work at a fast pace and cope with conflicting deadlinesAbility to deliver excellent customer serviceGood analytical and problem solving skillsGood follow through skillsDependable, hardworking, professional, self-starter, able to work independently and in teamsU.S. Eligibility Requirements:Interested candidates must submit an application and resume/CV online to be consideredMust be 18 years of age or olderMust be willing to submit to a background investigation; any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigationMust have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
