Ensure that associates are adequately trained and that units are properly staffed to provide service. Oversee systems and processes to ensure that the strategic and operational objectives of the Patient Dining Program are accomplished. They are a huge part of creating a culture of comfort and compassion in the healthcare environment, taking care of patients’ special requests and nutritional needs. Supervise associates and ensure they provide services that include helping patients make menu selections, assemble, deliver and pick-up their meal trays. Provide alternate menu selections as allowed on prescribed diet in accordance with food allergies and sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, and religious preferences, when patient inquires or needs additional selections. Serves as part of the caregiving team, responsible for patient safety and satisfaction goals by making sure meals are accurate and delivered at the right time and temperature. You should have a friendly, caring and compassionate attitude with patients when introducing the food service program, taking menu selections, delivering trays, and retrieving trays. As part of the caregiving team, your should always maintain a helpful attitude with nurses, physicians, other hospital employees and visitors.The primary responsibilities include:Help patients understand their menu selections and work with nursing and clinical dietitians to ensure sure their orders comply with their nutritional requirements or restrictions.Maintain current and accurate information for each patient in assigned unit(s).Work with the caregivers and culinary team to determine menu alternatives for patients with food allergies and sensitivities; cultural, ethnic and religious preferences; or when a patient inquires about additional selections.Manage tray tickets and assemble meals according to each patient’s menu selection in a timely and accurate manner.Retrieve trays from patient rooms at assigned times.Assist dietitians, such as helping monitor patients who cannot eat food through their mouth, are on liquid diets or have a specific calorie count to municate problems or concerns with patients to appropriate personnel in a timely manner, following department plete all daily, weekly or monthly reports as outlined in the Morrison Healthcare policies and procedures.Maintain a clean, sanitary working environment.Attend and participate in department meetings and staff development programs, as appropriate.Conduct daily associate team meetings following Morrison’s branded GR8 Start Meeting guidelines and template.Occasionally assist with breaking down, loading, or washing small wares and/or dishes between meal services.Patient Safety:Maintain and support our safety standards, including:Wear name tag identification and adhere to hospital uniform policy, always maintaining a professional ply with federal, state and local health and sanitation regulations, as well as department sanitation procedures.Adhere to facility confidentiality and the patient’s rights policy as outlined in the facility’s Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) policies and procedures.Follow Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines, a prevention based food safety system for meal assembly and distribution.Read and comply with all policies and procedures as appropriate.Follow facility and departmental safety policies and procedures, such as:Use equipment according to the department’s safety procedures.Identify and use appropriate cleaning chemicals and follow directions recommended by manufacturers, per Safety Data Sheets (SDS.)Report incidents immediatelyInfection control.Hazardous Materials and Waste Program.Emergency Preparedness Program and participation in disaster drills, as appropriate.Life Safety Program and participation in fire drills as appropriate.Utility failures.Performs other tasks as assigned.What We/'re Looking ForFull Time, Day ShiftAssociates Degree preferred.Minimum of one (1) year of related experience.Prior lead or supervisory experience preferred.What We Offer•Pay Range: $25.72 - 32.15 per hourThe compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.• Medical, dental, and vision insurance• 401k with Company match• Generous paid time off• Paid Holidays• Tuition Reimbursement• Advancement and career development opportunitiesCarePoint Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer encouraging diversity in the workplace.
