Overview Title: Principal Systems Engineer Location: Flexible / Remote Employment Type: Full-Time Compensation: $140,000 – $230,000 Role Summary: We are seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to lead the design and optimization of low-level software and high-performance applications. This role involves building systems for operating systems, embedded devices, and performance-sensitive platforms such as high-frequency trading. You will focus on system architecture, debugging, and implementing optimizations that push the limits of performance and reliability. Key Responsibilities Design and develop low-level systems software in C/C++ and Rust. Work on operating systems, embedded systems, and high-performance applications. Implement system-level optimizations for speed, reliability, and scalability. Conduct deep debugging and performance tuning at the kernel and assembly level. Collaborate with hardware and software teams to ensure seamless integration. Mentor engineering teams on systems-level best practices. Qualifications 8+ years of professional experience in systems engineering or low-level software. Strong expertise in C/C++, Rust, and Linux kernel programming. Hands-on experience with assembly language and low-level debugging. Proven track record of optimizing performance-critical applications. Experience in operating systems, embedded platforms, or financial/trading systems. Ability to lead architecture decisions and guide engineering teams.
