Location: Bay Area (On-site)General SummaryWe are seeking a skilled scientist in Associate Scientist to Scientist level with a background in Protein Science and Structural Biology in the Bioengineering Department at BioMap. This position will mainly focus on recombinant protein/enzyme production and characterization, computation-aided library generation, high-throughput screening, and structural biology. We are a multi-disciplinary team working closely with computational scientists on mini-binders, nanobodies, antibodies, and enzymes, supporting the discovery of bio-therapeutics through our engineering expertise. The successful candidate has a background within protein science and structural biology, and preferably experience with membrane protein production, protein characterization and HT display methodologies. This is a wonderful opportunity to work with world-class biologists, AI/ML scientists, and engineers to explore the next-generation therapeutical drug development.Job ResponsibilitiesGenerate high quality antigens for protein engineering campaigns in various host cells, with focus on the HEK and CHO cell systems.Work closely with other scientists on protein/enzyme engineering projects by using display technologies, NGS, flow cytometry, liquid handler, microplate reading, etc.Help design the DNA constructs, and generate the synthetic DNA library by molecular biology techniques, including RT-PCR, gene cloning, mammalian cell transfection, etc.Analyze libraries by FACS sorting and NGS to screen for lead candidates.Assist the HT P protein/enzyme characterization and in vitro/in vivo assay development.Collaborate with cross-functional teams for project development.Routine laboratory instruments maintenance, including mammalian cell cultures, AKTA, HPLC, etc.Demonstrate ability to combine, analyze, and visualize data from multiple sources.Attend internal and external meetings to represent the department or company for project presentation.QualificationsA Master’s or a Ph.D degree within subject matter expertise are preferred.Recombinant protein and enzyme production in mammalian or insect cells, experience on protein purification system (such as AKTA) and protein characterization (SPR/BLI, functional validation).Experience with membrane protein generation (preferring nanodiscs format).Good understanding of antibody and enzyme science.Experience with different protein formats, such as antibody, nanobody, mini-binder, and enzyme.Experience with cell-based compound characterization, microscopy, mammalian cell display technologies, flow cytometry, NGS is a plus.Experience with therapeutic drug development is a plus.Familiar with industrial working standards, including LIMS.Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.Good working attitude in a fast-growing organization.ApplicationsPlease send your CV with subject of Associate Scientist/Scientist in Protein Science to . #J-18808-Ljbffr
