Do you have a high regard for personal accountability and fully understand why technical HSE knowledge, integrity, trust, and customer focus are required qualities to display within the HSE function?If so, DHL Supply Chain has the opportunity for you.ResponsibilitiesDirects team responsible for developing, implementing, and administering a comprehensive safety program.Directs organizational safety and compliance with local, state, and federal health, safety, and environmental regulations in assigned sites.Plans, develops, and implements HSE programs by providing technical assistance in the identification, evaluation, and control of workplace hazards.Assists in evaluating risks associated with new business.Manages HS&E activities within assigned country/region. Monitors compliance with regulatory and company requirements.Provides strategic direction on the planning, development, administration, and management of organization safety policies, programs, and training for assigned country/region. Responsible for maintenance of the corporate HS&E programs and the HS&E Continuous Improvement Strategy.Provides oversight to safety performance measurement reporting. Identifies target areas of opportunity in coordination with Sector Leadership based on trend analysis provided by subordinate managers. Develops broad-based programs to mitigate risk.Serves as escalation point of contact for critical incident management and regulatory agency audits/inspections. Develops standardized emergency response processes. Participates in development of site business continuity plans.Develops and implements audit/assessment/inspection program, including frequency and content. Provides technical support to ensure risk reduction and code/regulation compliance.Directs development of standardized or specialized corrective action solutions based on trend analysis and audit results. Reviews implications to broad-based programs to ensure compliance, as well as providing flexibility based on operational requirements.Develops training program, procedures for root causation analysis, and incident investigation protocols. Advises Operations Senior Leadership on HSE issues related to new/existing business to ensure compliance with HSE-related items. Provides support for new business by providing analysis and mitigation of HSE issues. Interacts with customer as required.Manages external HSE consultant / service provider usage, including selection process. Manages daily activities of the HSE Managers and Program Managers. Provides training, technical support, and guidance to HSE team.Develops, implements, administers, and updates safety policies and procedures in coordination with updates to regulations and corporate policy.Manages HSE budget in coordination with Finance.Ensures completion of all required reporting and permitting. Supports site/sector special projects through assignment of team resources.Required Education And ExperienceBachelor’s degree in environmental, safety, industrial hygiene or related field, requiredMaster’s degree in related field, preferred9-11 years of experience managing safety in an operational or functional support role, requiredCertifications in Industrial Hygiene(CIH), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified OSHA Instructor (10 & 30 hour class), Certified Director of Safety (CDS) or Safety Supervisor (CSS), preferredOur Organization has a business casual environment and focuses on teamwork, associate development, training, and continuous improvement.
