OverviewJob Title: Interim Paralegal DirectorAgency: East Texas A&M UniversityDepartment: Political ScienceLocation: Commerce, TexasJob Type: StaffSummary: Under the leadership of the Department Head and CHSSA Deans Office the Ad Interim Paralegal Program Director provides vision and direction for the Paralegal Studies Program. The Director oversees all aspects of program administration, curriculum development, accreditation, budgeting and faculty management to ensure high-quality student outcomes. With over 140 degree programs, a 20:1 student-to-faculty ratio and nationally ranked online and graduate programs, ETAMU is committed to transforming lives through quality education.Duties & ResponsibilitiesOffice HoursMust maintain a specified number of weekly office hours in-person at the Commerce campus (during regular M-F business hours to be determined with the Department Head of Social Sciences).Program & Curriculum DevelopmentImplement assessment plans and use data for continuous improvementBudget & Resource ManagementDevelop and oversee program budget, scheduling and resource allocationAccreditation & PartnershipsMaintain ABA approval and other external partnerships through self-studies, reports and site reviewsFaculty & Staff LeadershipHire, onboard and supervise full- and part-time instructorsPromote faculty development in law and pedagogyStudent Success & AdvisingAdvise students on coursework, career paths and internship opportunitiesTrack and report on graduation placement and employer satisfaction metricsExternal EngagementBuild relationships with law firms, courts and employersFacilitate internships and practical learning experiencesOther DutiesPerform additional tasks as assigned by Department Head or Deans OfficeMinimum RequirementsEducation and Experience: Juris Doctor (J.D.) or Masters / Ph.D. in a relevant legal discipline.
