We are seeking PhD candidates and experienced PhDs to work closely with senior staff on commercial litigation consulting matters.Responsibilities include economic research, empirical analysis, and external communications preparation. We are looking for applicants with strong written and oral communication skills, critical thinking abilities, and the capacity to analyze complex data. The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team is essential.An Economist within our Disputes, Claims & Investigations group can expect assignments across a variety of industries, typically involving litigation or dispute matters that require advanced empirical modeling to support liability or damages theories, most frequently related to antitrust matters.Major Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform industry, company, technical, or economic researchReview, organize, and analyze project data and documents (e.g., financial, sales, healthcare data)Develop and review economic damage models in various contextsPrepare and present schedules and graphical exhibits summarizing results of analyticsPerform quality control procedures for client deliverablesPrepare written reports and exhibitsAttend client meetings and callsAssist in business development activities, such as proposals and professional articlesKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesProficiency with advanced database management and analytical tools such as SAS, STATA, R, Python, etc.Expertise in Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and AccessStrong attention to detailA strong work ethic, innovative thinking, and a positive attitudeExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to develop and critique alternative arguments and opinionsStrong research skillsExcellent teamwork and collaboration skillsAbility to manage changing client or court-imposed deadlinesStrong organizational skillsCapability to work independently and manage multiple tasksProfessional demeanor and appearanceEducation and / or TrainingPhD, preferably in Economics or Agricultural Economics0-2 years of post-graduate experiencePreferred QualificationsExperience or strong interest in litigation and / or dispute consultingFields of study: Applied Microeconomics, Industrial Organization, Microeconomic Theory, Game Theory, Labor, Healthcare, Econometrics, Public Policy, Agricultural EconomicsDocument Submission InstructionsThank you for your interest in this opportunity.
