Bonded Assembler Shift: First Shift Pay: $18-$22 Job Summary The Assembly Technician is responsible for completing bonded sub-assemblies using honeycomb, composite, or fiberglass materials. This role involves drilling, reaming, riveting, and installing fasteners to precise specifications, as well as assembling structural components using specialized tools, jigs, and fixtures. Key Responsibilities Perform all operations necessary for the installation, assembly, and mating of structural sub-assemblies. Build and assemble components using tooling to establish primary locations; lay out and locate holes, trim lines, and parts using direct measurements. Load and unload jigs, and perform required work or rework in or outside of tooling fixtures. Position and bond parts using specified layup processes. Fabricate detail parts such as shims, brackets, gussets, angles, and stiffeners. Use various shop aids and hand tools to assist in assembly and installation tasks. Carry out other duties as required by the position. Physical Demands & Work Environment Ability to see clearly at various distances and adjust focus. Effective communication skills required. Frequently required to walk, handle tools and parts, and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds frequently. Occasional sitting, stooping, kneeling, or crouching. Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, humid conditions, and airborne particles. Loud work environment; hearing protection is required. Safety glasses and fully enclosed, ANSI-compliant steel/composite-toe shoes must be worn in all manufacturing areas. Annual baseline hearing test required. Required Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. 12–24 months of aerospace assembly experience preferred. Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and mylars. Understanding of adhesive and pre-preg material handling. Familiarity with precision measurement tools and dimensional tolerances. Basic math skills (decimals, fractions, percentages); geometry and trigonometry a plus. Computer proficiency and ability to learn internal systems and software. Ability to meet requirements for all necessary certifications. Capable of performing tool preparation, bagging, and vacuum operations as required.
