Position SummaryA Law Enforcement officer main function is to observe and report. The LEO maintains a safe and secure environment for clients and employees. They detect suspicious activity, monitor the premises, and report all incidents in a timely fashion. Mulligan Security, the tri-state's leading private security organization, has immediate job opportunities for Law Enforcement Officers at Class "A" commercial properties located across New York City. We have full time positions available; these positions require flexibility to work different shifts as well as weekend based on operational needs.Essential Job ResponsibilitiesThe LEO is responsible to manage the security operations of our client's properties during a particular shift which includes, but is not limited to, the following tasks:Conduct the rollcall and ensure that all officers are present, in proper uniform and aware of their post orders and all current events which are related to this locationEnsure that security officers are knowledgeable on recent incidents and provide guidance on how established protocols should be followedInspect all officers while they are on post and sign their memo books during the tourRespond to all incidents and conduct the preliminary investigationCoordinate emergency resources when necessary and provide direction and informational updates to the twenty-four (24) hour Joint Security Operations Center (JSOC)Prepare detailed Incident ReportsAct as the point of contact for the NYPD and FDNY upon their arrival on campusDirect personnel changes during the shift and adjust posts as necessaryOversee the deployment of officers assigned to special events to ensure a safe environment.Assist the Director of Security with developing, coordinating, managing and communicating the security plan and, through proactive leadership, engage the security staff to maximize the efficiency of the operationRespond to all emergencies, fire alarms, criminal events, medical issues and news worthy incidents and provide direction to our staff while coordinating the responding emergency services response via the JSOCKnowledge/Skills/Abilities RequiredMust be able to work a flexible schedule, including all shifts, weekends and holidays.Must be able to follow detailed proceduresMust have strong Customer Service skillsStrong surveillance skillsMust be dependableMust project a professional image and maintain Mulligan uniform standardsStrong integrity, ethics, and emotional controlCompetenciesCritical thinking and creative problem-solving skills combined with sound judgmentOrganized with an attention to detailStrong verbal and written communication skillsFlexible and willing to learn new skill setsAbility to take initiative and work within a team structure as well as independentlyNote: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice.Working Conditions and Physical RequirementsMust be able to report to work on time in all types of weatherMust be able to meet Face to Face Relief criteria by extending past shift off times while waiting for post relief, working over 8 hours in a shift (adhering to applicable Federal and state Overtime regulations if applicable)Must be able to work outside for extended periods of time in all types of weather, including rain, snow, extreme cold and extreme heatSome lifting required of up to 50 lbs.Able to stand for up to 8 hoursMinimum QualificationsRetired law enforcement or military background is requiredMust be a NYS Licensed Armed Security Guard and an HR-218 CertificationState Photo IdentificationMust possess a high school diploma or equivalentMust be able to stand for eight consecutive hoursMust be able to work weekendsSuccessful completion of a drug test and pre-employment screening requirementsPrevious employment verificationMulligan Security Offers: A competitive compensation package.The rate for this role is between $40.00 per hourPTO, holiday, and sick time offComprehensive health plans including medical, dental and vision.401(k) investment planLife insurance
