REPORTS TO/TERM: Principal and Administrative TeamThis is a 12-month full time position.ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS : The Assistant Principal is expected to perform the following duties:Work with office administration to monitor and maintain student and staff attendanceSupport dean of students and teachers with discipline issuesSupport the school's vision and goals for student achievementArticulate and foster the school's desired cultureParticipate in writing and updating the Student HandbookAssist the principal with staff supervision and evaluationAct with integrity and fairness when relating to students and staffMaintain and protect the rights and confidentiality of othersParticipate in parent meetings regarding studentsInform the principal or lead principal of any problems, concerns or suggestions that have an impact on the operation of the schoolAssist the principal in developing the student master scheduleHelp to manage fiscal and physical school resources efficiently and effectivelyAssist the principal with teacher and academic support staff recruitmentPromote parent and community involvement within the school as part of a comprehensive public relations programAssist in overseeing the maintenance and cleanliness of the facilities and report concerns to the building principal and operations manager.Stay informed of current trends and legal requirements governing (State) schoolsConsistent evaluationsComplete assigned tasks and requests in a timely mannerAssume additional duties if needed in the event of the principal's absenceParticipate in coordinated routine monitoring of lesson plans and assessmentsMonitor duty assignments in assigned areasOversee the orderly arrival and dismissal of studentsCoordinate and/or host school events and meetingsWork on short term and long-term projectsAttend all building staff meetingsAssist principal with student and parent written communicationsMaintain a welcoming and inclusive environment for parent, community, staff and volunteersSupport school programs and activities such as musical programs, recognition ceremonies, holiday celebrations, school sports events etc.Perform other duties as deemed appropriate by the principal or lead principalRequirementsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Master's degree or higherAppropriate Grade Level (State) Principal License5 Years' experience functioning as a Master Teacher (preferred)Commitment to mission and organizational goals of the organization
