Description The Operations Program Manager (OPM) is the primary interface between Amazon Fulfillment Technologies and Robotics (FTR) and its global Contract Manufacturing (CM) and Original Design Manufacturing (ODM) partners. This role owns the execution of NPI builds, mass production readiness, sustaining operations, and change management to ensure on-time delivery, cost competitiveness, and operational excellence across a diverse supplier ecosystem. Key job responsibilities New Product Introduction (NPI) - Build Planning & Execution: - Serve as the main escalation point and relationship owner for CM partners during NPI builds. - Develop and manage detailed factory build schedules, milestones, and readiness plans. - Host and manage weekly CM and cross-functional program meetings; drive accountability to actions. - Ensure factory readiness for PVT/MP, including operator training, headcount sufficiency, line setup, and material availability. - Represent Operations in all internal cross-functional forums (NPIR, NPI/engineering reviews, finance, demand planning, launch readiness, and executive reviews). - Drive allocation management by collecting and consolidating requirements across internal and external teams. Mass Production (MP) & Sustaining Operations: - Lead sustaining core team to drive factory readiness, material health, and on-time delivery. - Manage production restarts, line re-qualification, and issue escalations. - Drive CM to resolve supply gaps, material issues, and production bottlenecks. - Own End-of-Manufacture (EOM) activities including factory ramp-down, material disposition, and lessons learned. Change Management: - Ensure CM executes Engineering Change Orders (ECO), Manufacturing Change Orders (MCO), and deviations per program requirements. - Drive qualification and control runs for critical part changes (SMT/FATP). - Manage regression and factory qualification testing to validate software and hardware changes. Line Equipment, CapEx & NRE - Partner with CM to assess and justify line configuration changes, equipment needs, and UPH optimization. - Manage CM CapEx/NRE budget requirements and approval cycles. Lead Time (LT) & Cost Reductions - Partner with Materials Program Managers (MPMs) to drive continuous cost reductions through material savings, process improvements, and equipment optimization. - Lead Kaizen reviews with CM factories to improve efficiency, cycle time, and throughput. Quality Management: - Drive yield improvement initiatives and corrective action processes. - Lead CM and cross-functional teams in response to line-down alerts, factory quality excursions, and FA/8D investigations. - Partner with engineering, reliability, and field quality teams to close quality issues at root cause. Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management, or Finance - 7+ years of experience in supply chain, supplier management, and strategic sourcing - 5+ years working cross-functionally with tech and non-tech teams, and in project management - Expertise in RFQs, supplier selection, risk mitigation, and contract negotiation - Skilled in global supplier cost, risk, and lead time reduction strategies - Data-driven approach to program execution and continuous improvement - Experienced in process standardization and developing business strategies across teams - Strong leadership in NPI programs and supplier management Preferred Qualifications - Master's degree in Business Administration, Industrial or Operations Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. - Demonstrated ability to work in an ambiguous environment while prioritizing and managing multiple stakeholders, responsibilities, and delivering multiple first-of-their-kind programs with aggressive schedules. - Highly effective oral and written communication skills. - Highly proficient in using Microsoft Office tools, Tableau analytics, and ERP/PLM Systems. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $220,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
