Job Title: NDE Technician Job Description The primary role of this position is to provide Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) support for manufacturing processes such as welding and machining. Additionally, the technician may be required to assist the Level III in developing NDT procedures and techniques, administering training, and certifying NDT personnel. Responsibilities + Provide NDT support for manufacturing processes, including welding and machining. + Assist in the development of NDT procedures and techniques. + Administer training and certification for NDT personnel. + Ensure compliance with AS9100, NADCAP, and NQA-1 quality systems. + Conduct radiographic testing (RT) or ultrasonic testing (UT) with required clearances. + Inspect welding processes and document findings accurately. + Utilize Excel for documentation purposes. Essential Skills + ASNT Certification in Ultrasonics (UT), Liquid Penetrant (PT), and Visual (VT). + 5-10 years of experience as a Level 2 NDE Technician. + Experience with radiographic testing or ultrasonic testing. + Strong documentation and inspection skills. + Proficiency in Excel. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor's Degree is preferred. + Minimum 10 years of experience with AS9100, NADCAP, or NQA-1 quality systems. + Knowledge and/or certification in radiographic testing (RT), Electromagnetic Testing (ET), and Leak Testing (MSLT) NDT methods is preferred. Work Environment The position is onsite in Huntsville, AL, working from 6 AM to 4:30 PM with lunch and two breaks. The team includes a lead and two Level 3 NDEs, with plans to hire four more Level 2 technicians. Government customers observe testing onsite daily. The role involves supporting Department of Energy (DOE) missile and glovebox projects, with ultrasonic testing for gloveboxes and radiographic testing for missiles. Employees are working towards 10 overtime hours per week. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
