Maintenance Technician I

Summary The Maintainence Technician assures that equipment is maintained for maximum available production capacity. Responsibilities * Verifies Preventative Maintenance work orders are properly matched to the equipment in the area. * Follow through for accurate Countermeasures on Major Breakdown Reports * Ensures adequate spare parts are available * Manages any ongoing projects in the department * Interacts with Vendors and Contractors for related work in the Department * Understanding and implementation of a safe work environment * Schedules shutdown work with Planners * Assists with creation of One Point Lessons and Standard Operating Procedures for tasks necessary for more efficient repair and troubleshooting * Ensures that department is kept in a clean 5s standard * Works closely with Maintenance Supervisor on communicating work load and recommended improvements * Requires On Call availability Knowledge and Skills * Technical/analytic skills * Effective written/oral communication * Good working knowledge of computer applications Education and Experience * High School Diploma * 5-8 years related experience including good working knowledge of PLC's, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and welding equipment. * Must have had an effective background in environmental safety and supervision
