Job Title: Drafter Job Description Join a full-service engineering firm specializing in design services for power utilities and telecommunications. As a drafter, you will play a crucial role in designing and updating maps of communication utilities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards. Responsibilities + Design, draft, and update maps of communication utilities using Katapult imagery gathered from the field. + Interpret and reproduce field notes for project specifications. + Enter accurate mechanical and technical data into online databases. + Complete all projects in a timely manner. + Make calculations and analyze data provided by field technicians to ensure equipment meets current standards for quality control and accuracy. + Apply company and client policies and procedures for the development of site designs for overhead and underground electrical distribution facilities, including reconductoring, conversions, cable replacement, and customer and reliability jobs. Essential Skills + Proficiency in drafting and using drafting software. + Experience with utility poles. + Knowledge of Katapult software. + 2D drafting skills. + Telecommunication and OSP (Outside Plant) expertise. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Associates Degree or AutoCAD Drafting certification. + 1+ years of AutoCAD drafting experience. + Power distribution or telecommunications experience preferred. + Familiarity with Google Earth or GIS experience is a plus. Work Environment Work as part of a small engineering team in an office environment. You will be equipped with a company laptop and monitors, providing the tools necessary for success in this role. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Louisville, Kentucky. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
