Salary: $3,465.00 MonthlyLocation : Pretrial Services - 222 South Comal San Antonio, TXJob Type: Full-time RegularJob Number: 2025-02153Department: Office of Criminal Justice Policy, Planning & ProgramsDivision: Pretrial ServicesOpening Date: 08/15/2025Closing Date: Continuous SummaryUnder direct supervision, is responsible for monitoring the status of defendants released on bond with specialized conditions of bond; verifies defendant information and reviews court documents; tracks number of defendants released or denied bond; and performs related duties as required. Duties and Responsibilities Develops case files for defendants released on bond with specialized conditions of bond such as drug testing, substance abuse education, domestic violence, ignition interlock and special supervisionVerifies defendant information, such as home address, attorney and personal referencesVerifies case information, such as court dates, bond forfeitures and warrantsReviews official documents and queries on-line computer databases to determine changes in case statusPrepares correspondence to criminal courts and reports any bond violationsInforms defendants, attorneys and court personnel of changes in case or defendant statusPrepares and submits change of address letters and attorney verification lettersMaintain case files regarding all defendant supervision activityAttempts to contact defendants who fail to report-in or otherwise fail to meet the terms of their bond agreementMaintains log file of defendants released or denied bondResponds to telephone inquiries from defendants, attorneys, court personnel and the general public concerning casesPerforms related duties as required Minimum Qualifications Graduation from High School or General Education Development (GED) certificate, and three (3) years' experience in a legal setting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience Knowledge of court procedures; knowledge of basic legal terminology Skill in applying rules of English spelling, grammar and punctuation. Skill in operating a personal computer, typewriter and other office equipment Ability to accurately enter data; ability to organize information; ability to maintain alphabetic and numeric filing systems; ability to effectively respond to questions and complaints; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, other County employees, defendants, attorneys, outside organizations and the general public Must secure and maintain a favorable background investigation and clearance Must clear a pre-employment physical and a pre-employment drug screen test May work weekends and perform shift work May be required to work more than 40 hours during the workweekWorking Conditions and Physical Environment: Working conditions are primarily indoors Required to work in jail environment Occasionally moves items weighing up to 10-15 pounds Occasionally moves about the office Frequently communicates with others; must be able to exchange accurate information Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery Positions self to perform essential functions Must be able to remain in a stationary position Supplemental InformationWorkstations with internet access are available, if needed, to view job postings and apply online at 211 S Flores, San Antonio, TX 78204, 8am - 5pm, Monday through Friday.
