The KCC is a multi-faceted agency responsible for regulating public utilities including electric, natural gas, telecommunication and water companies as well as motor carriers, oil and gas pipelines and oil and gas natural production activities. The Commission's headquarters is in Topeka with the central Conservation office in Wichita and four Conservation district offices located in Dodge City, Wichita, Chanute and Hays. Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following: * Processes all documents into the case management database; distributes documents to the staff within 24 hours of receipt; and processes documents within the workflow of a case management program. * Preparation of reports, lists, and information as requested regarding the filing of documents and their deadlines. * Entry of deadlines, schedules, hearing dates, etc. into a case management system for availability on the KCC website. * Respond to requests for information from many individuals inside and outside of the Commission. * Serves as back up to the Commissioner's Executive Secretary. * Position requires a high degree of responsibility and accountability. * Position requires a detail-oriented and organized person. Qualifications * Four years of experience in general office, clerical or administrative support work. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency. * Prior work experience in a court clerk's office handling document filings or legal experience is an advantage. Must be precise and detail-oriented with strong vocabulary and communication skills, have the ability to focus attention on details and follow state regulations and internal policies outlining docket room procedure and processing of documents filed with the Commission, and possess strong computer skills.
