Sr. Cost Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Cost Accountant to join our team in the south suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. This is a long-term contract opportunity within the telecom services industry, offering the chance to apply your expertise in cost accounting in a dynamic manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in financial analysis and cost management, alongside proficiency with Oracle Fusion. Responsibilities: - Prepare and analyze monthly cost accounting reports to ensure accurate financial tracking. - Manage and evaluate standard costs within the manufacturing environment to identify discrepancies and areas for improvement. - Conduct detailed cost analysis to support decision-making and operational efficiency. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cost accounting practices align with business objectives. - Utilize Oracle Fusion to maintain and update cost accounting records and processes. - Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities, providing insights based on cost data. - Monitor and report on variances between actual and standard costs to identify trends. - Support audits and compliance efforts by providing accurate and timely cost-related data. - Implement and refine cost accounting methodologies to enhance financial reporting. - Provide recommendations for cost-saving initiatives based on thorough analysis. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. - Minimum of 8 years of relevant cost accounting experience. - Proven expertise in manufacturing cost accounting processes and methodologies. - Proficiency in Oracle Fusion is mandatory. - Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data. - Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. - Familiarity with standard cost accounting practices and cost analysis. - Manufacturing industry experience is highly preferred.
