We're not just offering a job; we're offering a thrilling expedition for those who crave the excitement of the highway.ResponsibilitiesFollow instructions; locate and read location and road mapsPick up goods and materials, verify loads for accuracy, and deliver them as instructedLoad and unload cargoResponsible for basic vehicle maintenance; comply with all safe work practices, policies, and processes at all timesComplete and verify paperwork for accuracySafely drive truck to and from destination applying knowledge of DOT driving regulations and area roadsCheck loads to ensure product is being hauled in an appropriate and safe mannerVerify directions with site personnelDevelop extensive working relationships with customers, both external and internal, in order to maximize opportunities and to ensure customer needs are addressedKeep equipment in acceptable condition of cleanlinessMaintain personal appearance in neat and clean mannerMaintain radio contact with supervisor/dispatch to receive and transmit delivery instructionsComplete pre- and post-trip inspections on truck equipment and supplies, such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and waterMay perform roadside repairs, such as installing light bulbs, etc.Maintain good working knowledge of the traffic routes of the cityMust be able to take orders, instructions, and guidance from supervisors and managementCooperate and promote a team concept with all other company employees, as well as all customersAdhere to all Welborn, D.O.T., and O.S.H.A. rules and regulations at all timesMeet or exceed company safety standardsPerform other job responsibilities as assigned by managementRequirements Valid US CDL2+ years of CDL experienceAt least 21 years of ageTraffic laws/ DOT regulations/ driving knowledgeAble to pass random drug testsClean driving record (accidents, traffic violations, etc.)No DUI/DWI convictions in the past seven yearsListening and verbal communication skillsDependabilityContinuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, and working outdoorsMust wear protective equipment while at the locationRequires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degreeHeavy Work-Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds or force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objectsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, to communicate to employees/visitors as well as function safely around heavy rolling equipmentMust be able to perform all job functions which include, but may not be limited to, pushing, turning, and/or pulling of controlsMust pass DOT physical to include back and spine check, hearing test and drug/alcohol screen
