Mercy Hospital St. Louis Winter 2025 Nurse Extern Program Mercy STL Hospital 615 S New Ballas Rd St Louis, MO Are you interested in gaining more clinical experience during your school break while earning extra money? If the answer is yes, Mercy's extern program may be just what you are looking for. Our Externs will have the opportunity to gain additional preceptor clinical experiences and be paid at an hourly rate while doing so. $18/hr. FULL TIME, 3 x12 hour shifts Two session options: December 15th - January 9th December 22nd - January 16th Participating in a Mercy Externship this Winter will help you... Better understand the nurse role in an acute care facility Build more confidence in providing direct and indirect patient care Must have successfully completed skills checkouts at your accredited nursing program before you can perform those skills. Engage in additional clinical preceptor time to increase approved nursing skills under the direction of your preceptor: IV therapy Foley care NG tube care and tube feeding ostomy care POC, phlebotomy and specimen collection simple dressing changes Participate in head-to-toe assessment Trach care Requirements for application: Completed 1 round of clinicals by start of externship Ability to work 3 shifts/week (36 hours) for duration of externship Limited opportunities available, please make sure to apply by October 1st, 2025 For further questions please contact: Stephanie.Royer@ Mercy has determined this is a safety-sensitive position.
