Patient Placement RN - CareComm Command Center

Job Summary Under general supervision of the Lead Administrator on Duty, following established policies and procedures, gathers and records all necessary information. Coordinates patient placement assignments and re-assignments throughout all hospital units. Partners with Administrators on Duty, Charge Nurses, and Clinicians to place patients, resolve bed shortage conflicts, answers routine and non-routine phone calls from physicians, nurses, patients, and other clinical departments within the Hospital and routes inquiries as appropriate and convey the status of available beds. Will act as the clinical escalation source for non-clinical Patient Placement Specialists on shift for any care concerns or issues that arise. Plans and prioritizes all admissions based on acuity of patients throughout the organization. Reviews all charts and admissions statuses within the electronic patient record and determines appropriate service line placements and safe assignments for patients. Other duties as assigned. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital. * Graduate of accredited School of Nursing; licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse by the State of Florida. * Minimum two (2) year experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting.
