Responsibilities Palmetto Lowcountry Behavioral Health serves the state of South Carolina with a broad range of psychiatric and substance abuse services. These services address the needs of individuals and families living with mental health and addiction disorders. Psychiatric programs and services for adolescents, adults and senior adults are offered in private inpatient and outpatient settings. Our goal is to serve at-risk individuals with quality care, compassion and respect.JOB SUMMARY:To provide and assess the needs of walk-in and phone callers and ensure their referral to the service or resource to best address the patient needs.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Reviews calls with CEO or AOC as designated and when applicable, communicates with Nursing Supervisor and On-Call MD. (I.e. primarily referrals for direct admission from professionals, ERs or Hospitals Completes and/or ensures performance of comprehensive clinical assessments for psychiatric & substance abuse patients. Ensures documentation of all pertinent clinical information and ensures all patients are dispositioned appropriately, utilizing supervision as required. Completes and/or ensures insurance pre-cert where insurance requires. Including diligence in conducting pre-certifications with the appropriate managed care company. Completes and/or ensures insurance pre-cert where insuragnce requires. Deocuemtns and/or ensure documentation of adminssions into the computer. Conducts follow-up calls to referral sources and patient families. Department oversight to include personnel management, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.
