Employee assists students, teachers, staff, and parents in the operation of technology. Charlotte- Mecklenburg Schools reserves the right to require you to work at such other place(s) as it may reasonably require from time to time.Essential FunctionsAdhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and proceduresAssist staff with submitting helpdesk tickets and follows up as neededProvide basic technical support to existing school computers, tablets, network, AV equipment, student and staff devices, and printers/copiersIssue, distribute, manage, verify, and collect student devices each school yearWork with teachers and technology staff in the selection of resources that are compatible with the school technology infrastructureAssist with the implementation of computer assisted instructional programsMonitor and assist students and teachers in the use of the computerAssist teachers with the presentation of learning materials and instructional activitiesAdhere to and communicate copyright as well as other laws and guidelines pertaining to the distribution and ethical use of all resourcesInspect computer equipment regularly; perform minor repairs on equipment if needed; arrange for major repairs on equipmentFacilitate school participation in technology programs and activitiesCollaborate with the school library media coordinator to provide leadership in the school's use of instructional technology resources to enhance learningServe as point of contact for communications between Technology Services and schoolEnforce the Internet Acceptable Use Policy, Photo and Video Release Form, and Student Technology Agreement for staff and studentsShare, distribute, and collect the CMS Student Technology Agreement each school yearOversee assessment and collection of technology fees to applicable students and include technology fee waiver process as needed/requestedReview, update, and maintain accurate device inventoryManage damaged technology transfer to and from repair depotPrepare aging, unsupported, and damaged school or classroom technology for surplus pickupAttend professional development, professional learning communities, and other meetingsKnowledge, Skills, AbilitiesKnowledge and understanding of the principles, practices, and procedures of public-school system policies and technology programsKnowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements applicable to school system technologyKnowledge of effective teaching, assessment, and best practices for inspired learningAbility to organize, prioritize, and carry out duties efficiently and within established timeframesAbility to maintain professional and emotional control under stressAbility to reflect appropriate response to situations, while maintaining a professional and personal demeanorAbility to learn and use specialized tools, equipment or software related to business needsAbility to communicate effectivelyAbility to reason, make judgments, and maintain effective working relationshipsAbility to employ positive communication skills in all settings/mediumsAbility to problem-solve utilizing sound judgmentAbility to maintain confidentiality regarding school system businessAbility to analyze and interpret data to make data-driven decisionsAbility to take initiative, work independently, and exercise sound judgementAbility to troubleshoot technology-related problemsEducation and ExperienceAssociate degree in education, technology, or related field requiredEquivalent combination of experience and educationSpecial RequirementsPossess and maintain a valid driver's license or ability to provide own transportation.Travel to school district buildings and professional meetings# of Jobs 1.00 Minimum Educational Requirements Associate Degree Term 11 Month Additional Job Information Physical Requirements/Working Conditions Work requires the occasional exertion of up to twenty pounds of force. Work regularly requires the exchange of accurate and detailed information through oral and written communication. Constantly operates a computer and other office business equipment. Ability to remain in stationary position for required meetings/work. Ability to move to other work locations. Visual acuity requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities. Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels, and to receive detailed information through oral communications. Work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operating standard office equipment, and use of advanced technology. Work occasionally requires exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g., business office, light traffic) Requires the ability to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions.
