Patient Care Technician – Dialysis Alternate Job Titles: Dialysis Technician Hemodialysis Technician Renal Patient Care Technician Dialysis Clinical Support Technician PCT – Renal Care Location: Denver, CO Onsite Flexibility: Onsite Contract Details Position Type: Contract Duration: 3 months Start Date: As soon as possible Pay Rate: $Not Specified Job Summary The Patient Care Technician – Dialysis provides direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse. This role plays a critical part in supporting dialysis patients, ensuring treatment accuracy, and responding to emergent care needs in alignment with safety and clinical protocols. Key Responsibilities Deliver direct patient care during dialysis treatments under licensed nurse supervision. Assist with pre- and post-dialysis assessments and document patient information accurately. Monitor dialysis parameters and record them on Dialysis Flow Sheets. Report significant patient condition changes to supervisors immediately. Assist with emergency operational procedures and initiate CPR if required. Support overall dialysis treatment processes and patient safety protocols. Required Experience Prior patient care experience in a hospital or related setting preferred but not required. Completion of a training program in theory and practice of hemodialysis. Current CPR certification. Required Education High school diploma or GED required. Education in physical sciences or laboratory techniques preferred. Required Skills Strong attention to detail in patient monitoring and documentation. Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Excellent teamwork and communication skills. Preferred Skills Familiarity with dialysis care processes and patient education. Knowledge of medical safety and infection control practices. Additional Requirements Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and assisting patients. Commitment to compliance with hospital safety and patient confidentiality standards.
