About the Role As a Traffic/Criminal Defense Attorney , you will handle a high-volume caseload of traffic and misdemeanor cases from intake through resolution. You'll appear in court regularly, manage your own docket, and build strong client relationships. In addition to courtroom work, you will also contribute to the firm's growth by conducting consultations with potential new clients. This role offers immediate courtroom experience and the chance to develop as a skilled advocate while working closely with the firm's owner as well as the Sr. Attorney. What You'll Do Represent clients in hearings, trials, and plea negotiations across Virginia courts (travel up to 1 hour required) Draft and file motions, pleadings, and other legal documents Conduct consultations with prospective clients and convert them into retained clients Communicate regularly with clients, courts, and Commonwealth's Attorneys' offices Strategically manage a fast-paced calendar of cases and court appearances Collaborate with paralegal and legal assistant support staff for filings and case management What We're Looking For Required: Licensed to practice law in Virginia (in good standing) Strong oral advocacy and legal writing skills Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle a high-volume caseload Willingness to travel up to 1 hour for court appearances Preferred: 1-3 years of experience in criminal defense or traffic law Existing relationships with local prosecutors and courts New graduates may be considered with strong academic performance and a professor's recommendation Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary and quarterly bonuses Firm-paid health insurance, CLE reimbursement, and bar dues Opportunity for rapid courtroom experience and career growth Why Join Us?
