Sous Chef

Major Food Group is hiring an experienced Sous Chef to join our newest opening, Carbone Vino !Vino is a new concept from Major Food Group celebrating timeless artisanship and the most coveted wines of Italy complete with a thousand bottle wine cellar. The menu features an extensive selection of handmade pastas, Sicilian pizzas, signature entrées like spicy rigatoni and friend veal chop prepared “your way”, and fresh gelato served table-side.  RESPONSIBILITIES: Sourcing, ordering and receiving the highest quality ingredients Developing, teaching, and maintaining all recipes and techniques Executing menu items from start to finish Organizing a large team and holding each chef accountable for their responsibilities Overseeing and maintaining a smooth professional service Maintaining all kitchen equipment and following up for any repairs needed Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization Overseeing scheduling and inventory to work within a set budget REQUIREMENT: 3+ years progressive experience in BOH operations, fine dining or Michelin Rated restaurant experience is preferred Strong knowledge of and competency performing BOH administrative duties, excellent organization skills and attention to details Excellent communication skills, self-motivated and demonstrates the ability to make quick and sound decisions Proven ability in training and mentoring staff to continuously develop their skills and knowledge while providing leadership and direction BENEFITS: Competitive Salary Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance with Company subsidy Growth Opportunities Progressive Paid Time Off Parental Leave Tuition Reimbursement Generous Dining Allowance Unlimited Referral Program 401k Plan with Employer Contribution Equal Employment Opportunity  Major Food Group considers applicants for all positions without regard to race, color, religion, creed, gender, national origin, age, disability, marital or veteran status, sexual orientation, or any other legally protected status.
