Job Description

Our client is seeking a talented Senior Scientist/Engineer to join their team of experts in environmental licensing, permitting, and compliance projects. In this full-time role, you will primarily focus on projects related to acoustics within our client's Acoustics Group. If you are a seasoned professional with 7-12 years of experience in a consulting environment and a passion for environmental science, this is the perfect opportunity for you. Responsibilities Managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring their successful completion. Representing our client at public meetings, showcasing your expertise. Leading sound level measurement programs and utilizing sound level modeling techniques. Preparing comprehensive reports that communicate project findings effectively. Conducting periodic fieldwork and being open to overnight, out-of-state travel, particularly for renewable energy projects. Qualifications A Bachelor's degree (B.S. or B.A.) in Acoustics, Engineering, Environmental Science, or Physics. Extensive experience (7-12 years) in a consulting environment, demonstrating your expertise. Proficiency in using sound level measurement equipment and CadnaA modeling software. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective interaction with clients, agency staff, and regulatory boards. A track record of presenting technical material persuasively. The ability to collaborate seamlessly within a multidisciplinary project team. Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and prior project management experience. Additional Skills and Experience Experience in the following areas is considered advantageous: Previous involvement in the energy industry, materials handling business, or transportation/FHWA TNM modeling. Familiarity with noise control engineering. Knowledge of federal and state cultural resource management, including Section 106 and National Register criteria. Understanding of relevant Massachusetts regulations (Chapter 254 and MEPA). Requirements A valid driver's license, allowing operation of a motor vehicle for business travel. Adequate insurance and vehicle registration. All necessary paperwork for employment in the USA.
