Software Development Engineer in Test SDET (Remote)

OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to design, implement, and maintain an automation framework for an Angular-based web application. The ideal candidate will be hands-on with Playwright (Node.js/TypeScript), experienced in building robust, data-driven test suites, and passionate about ensuring product quality through automation best practices.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and maintain an end-to-end automation strategy for an Angular-based web application using Playwright (Node.js).Develop a comprehensive automation plan that aligns with release goals, risk assessment, and test coverage (smoke, regression, functional, accessibility as applicable).Build data-driven tests that create records from input lists (CSV/JSON/Excel) and validate expected outcomes.Implement robust data cleanup and teardown processes to ensure test isolation and prevent data leakage between runs.Create reusable test utilities, page objects, and helper functions for maintainability and scalability.Collect and publish test results; provide actionable defect reproduction steps.Collaborate with developers to diagnose flaky tests, diagnose root causes, and stabilize the test suite.Promote good testing practices, including test data management, parameterization, and parallel execution strategies.Required Skills & ExperienceSeven years of total IT/Software engineering experience.3+ years of hands-on experience in test automation, with a focus on web applications.Strong proficiency with Playwright (Node.js) and TypeScript; JavaScript is acceptable.Experience building data-driven tests from input lists (CSV/JSON/Excel) and handling test data lifecycle.Experience implementing data cleanup/teardown logic (delete/test data resets, API-based cleanup where applicable).Familiarity with test runners and frameworks (Playwright Test, Jest) and assertion libraries.Proficient with version control (Git) and collaboration workflows (PRs, code reviews).Good problem-solving skills, debugging, and ability to write clean, maintainable code.Ability to work in Agile/Scrum development environments and contribute to sprint planning and test coverage strategy.Excellent communication and documentation skills.Nice-to-HaveIntegrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.) with clear reporting and artifacts.Exposure to containerized test execution environments (Docker, Kubernetes).Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools for test execution.Experience with accessibility testing and performance test automation.Knowledge of API testing frameworks (e.g., Postman, REST Assured, or Playwright API testing).Prior experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) for test execution and infrastructure management.You must be able to obtain a Public pany DescriptionGoldman Edwards is a leader in the application of systems engineering across a wide array of large-scale system development and mission critical programs used by government and industry.
