Responsibilities include evaluating and monitoring investments, financial modeling, review of relevant research and documentation (including regulatory filings, private placement memorandums, limited partnership agreements and other due diligence materials), and preparing Investment Committee memorandums and updates related to the investment portfolio.Duties/ResponsibilitiesSourcing Investments: Maintain an active network of high quality Limited and General Partner investors globally. Develop pipelines of information to identify potential new investment opportunities. Develop relationships with investment managers and communicate the Foundation’s mission. Attend industry conferences to expand networks.Underwriting Investments: Conduct comprehensive manager due diligence including onsite meetings globally, performance benchmarking, reference calls, and review documentation (private placement memorandums, limited partnership agreements, regulatory filings, and other due diligence materials). Identify and communicate key investment assumptions, drivers to returns, risks, and merit for portfolio inclusion.Monitoring Investments: Participate in investment manager annual meetings, investor calls, due diligence sessions; prepare written documentation of meetings for investment and auditing purposes. Ensure the investment thesis is maintained and communicate findings with the broader team. Maintain proprietary databases (e.g., pro-forma commitment pacing, contribution/distribution analysis, manager asset mix, fundraising movements).Communications: Prepare written recommendations to the Board of Trustee Investment Committee on investment opportunities for both public and private markets after building consensus with investment staff and consultant. Provide ad hoc reporting and communications related to investments and finance as needed by the Chief Investment Officer.Team and Division Support: Help develop junior staff and interns; provide backup support to Investment Operations staff.QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent, relevant certification (e.g., CFA or CAIA), and 5 years of professional investment experience.Preferred Qualifications: • Degree in accounting, business administration, or related field with professional experience in accounting, finance, or investment management• Graduate degree in economics, business, or law• Extensive experience sourcing, underwriting, and monitoring investments within private equity, venture capital, real estate, public equity, and hedge fund partnerships globally• Experience serving on limited partner advisory committees• Experience with Burgiss Private i or other private capital softwareKnowledge, Skills, Abilities, and CompetenciesInterpret investment statistics, K-1 reports, corporate financial reports, and analytical investment dataFluency in investment accounting and investment languageEffective written and oral communicationAbility to prioritize and manage multiple projectsAnalytical thinking and ability to synthesize information, set priorities, and meet deadlinesAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong organizational skills and attention to detailEthical and discreet handling of confidential informationProficiency in database management and spreadsheet softwareAbility to prepare graphs/chartsAdditional Division ExpectationsFoster open, respectful communication and accountability for a stable, productive work environmentAdherence to CASE standards and industry standards for fundraising reportingPhysical DemandsWork in an office environment; travel as neededOccasional evenings or weekendsUse of electronic communications and standard office toolsAbility to lift up to 10 pounds; other physical activities as requiredWorking Conditions and ComplianceIs driving a responsibility of this position?
