The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.Salary Range $165,000.00 - $272,200.00Target Openings 1 What Is the Opportunity?The AVP, Actuarial and Analytics is a senior analytic leadership role that encompasses strategy development & execution, operational, and talent responsibilities for assigned unit typically involved in reserving, rate-making, pricing, planning/forecasting, project management and research. The individual in this role is expected to drive change within department and influence leaders up to the VP level across multiple departments. The AVP, Actuarial and Analytics will work within broad limits and authority on complex initiatives requiring specialized knowledge and expertise in breadth and/or depth in several of the following areas: Actuarial and/or research methods; Advanced statistical analyses; Broad business knowledge; In-depth Line of Business knowledge; Broad awareness of enterprise Actuarial & Analytics community. What Will You Do? Strategy: Assess, prioritize, influence and communicate strategic initiative options to senior leaders; Foster an environment for effective execution and completion of assigned strategic initiatives and projects; Be a leader of change and innovation; Lead assigned unit strategic initiatives and cross-unit initiatives and participate in Enterprise initiatives. Operational: Perform and lead actuarial and analytic analyses to solve business problems and apply judgment; Drive day to day execution within unit; Promote efficiency and identify appropriate resource needs across primary working group; Make decisions independently in accordance with Segment practices; Provide direction and review others 0analytical work; Translate ambiguous business needs into analytical solutions; Support initiatives across the Enterprise within scope. Communication: Communicate regularly with staff, peers, business partners, and senior leaders; Tailor communication of analysis and project results to the audience; Explain technical topics to non-technical audiences; Lead group discussions; Create formal written communications; Influence and collaborate to enhance business outcomes. Talent: Direct management of a team of managers and contributors; Talent acquisition, retention and development; Establish standards for talent development, performance and personal development goals; Succession planning and talent assessment; Performance management and workforce planning; Support cross-Enterprise initiatives and mentoring; Identify training needs and support recruiting efforts across the Enterprise; Perform other duties as assigned. Leadership: Challenge conventional thinking; Own projects and make independent recommendations; Lead Self and Leading Others; Develop Leading the Business capabilities to drive enterprise results. Business Acumen: Deep understanding of underwriting, products, reinsurance, distribution, sales, operations, risk control, claim and financials; Apply business knowledge to analytic solutions; Stay aware of industry trends and competitors. Relationship Management: Build cross-functional relationships; Create cross-functional teams to drive consensus; Manage conflicts; Recognize accomplishments; Set expectations with partners; Seek diverse perspectives; Lead quantitative analysis discussions and reviews. What is a Must Have? Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience required. 7+ years of comprehensive quantitative analysis experience required. Project or people management experience required.
