As the Director of Financial Aid, you will lead a dynamic team of 20 in delivering critical access to education and play a central role in supporting student success while enabling enrollment and registrar functions across the university. What you'll doAs Director of Financial Aid & Scholarships, you will: Lead the administration of federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs and scholarships. Develop strategic recommendations for institutional aid aligned with enrollment priorities and financial sustainability. Provide strategic leadership for enrollment management in collaboration with Admissions and other units. Ensure compliance with federal (Title IV), state, institutional, and NCAA regulations and interpret/update policies and procedures. Prepare and submit reports to federal, state, system, and other governing bodies; serve as liaison with auditors. Oversee daily operations of financial aid programs (loans, grants, scholarships, work-study) and optimize the Banner system and related technologies. Monitor workload management to ensure accurate and timely awarding, disbursement, and student communications; coordinate with Financial Services on reconciliations and compliance. Develop and manage departmental operating budgets and funding allocations; forecast expenditures and pursue new aid resources. Supervise and develop staff, provide training on processes and customer service; foster a culture of accountability and student-centered service. Advise students and families on eligibility, appeals, and compliance; participate in the Financial Aid Appeals Committee; lead outreach to schools, community groups, and campus events. Collaborate with campus partners, high school counselors, and community stakeholders to expand awareness of financial aid programs. What you'll bringMinimum Requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience/Knowledge/Skills: 5–7 years of progressively responsible financial aid experience; experience leading staff or projects in a financial aid or enrollment services environment; knowledge of Federal, State, and institutional financial aid regulations; experience with student information systems (e.g., Banner, PeopleSoft, Workday or similar); strong leadership, organizational, communication, and customer service skills. Ability: Multitask, work cooperatively, use technology to automate processes, maintain confidentiality, occasional evenings/weekends, and travel. Licensing/Certifications: Valid driver’s license. Physical Requirements: None Other Requirements: Training in NCAA compliance related to student financial aid; maintain good standing on any Federal student loans. Preferred Qualifications Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, or related field. Experience with Banner, PeopleSoft or similar SIS. Budget development and enrollment strategy experience; NASFAA certification (FAAC preferred).
