Our vision is to help researchers rapidly move from the lab to life-changing advances, accelerating progress and genomics breakthroughs across fields like cancer, infectious disease, rare genetic disorders, and more.You’ll be part of a culture rooted in continuous learning and improvement—where your growth fuels our mission to accelerate the pace of genomics and help shape a healthier, brighter future for all.Learn about the Danaher Business System which makes everything possible.ResponsibilitiesLeverage your breadth of systems design and test expertise to deliver transformative capabilities for IDT's oligo synthesis platforms, from initial ideation to design validation and testing to implementation in a manufacturing environment.Define and manage system level architecture, organize interactions between components.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, bridging together system elements to ensure alignment during development.Contribute to the broader system engineering process within IDT Platform Development to ensure product performance, reliability and manufacturability.Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, chemistry or biology required with minimum 5 years’ applicable experience in systems engineering or relevant field.Experience in creating user needs, quantifiable design inputs, subsystem performance specifications, and ensuring all requirements are testable.Working experience with informal and formal testing methods for automated systems in laboratory or factory environments.Utilizing data analysis software and custom scripting to provide analysis and summarize results.Travel, Physical/Environment RequirementsAbility to travel 10% time domesticallyAbility to occasionally lift, move or carry equipment up to 10 lbAbility to frequently work in a laboratory environment for extended periodsPreferred additional qualificationsAdvanced degree in engineering, physics, chemistry or biologyFormal systems engineering training or experience with systems modeling language (e.g. MBSE, SysML)Cross-disciplinary hardware/software development and integrationOligo synthesis process or related research experience, especially in emerging technologies (e.g. novel chemical, enzymatic, array or microfluidics)Compensation and BenefitsThe salary range for this role is $125,000-$160,000. This range is the range of possible compensation at the time of posting and may be modified in the future.This job is eligible for bonus/incentive pay.We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.Note: No amount of pay is considered to be wages or compensation until earned, vested, and determinable.
