Center Director, Early LearningJoin to apply for the Center Director, Early Learning role at YMCA of Greater Seattle.OverviewThe Center Director provides day-to-day supervision and management of an early education center. They implement safe and quality programming through working directly with employees, participants, and parents. The position is responsible for community relationships, participant engagement, program delivery, curriculum delivery, daily operations, and diversity, inclusion, social justice, and equity culture building for youth programs in conjunction with the Center of Excellence (CoE) and Youth Development Branch Leadership. The Center Director will be comfortable motivating, communicating, and influencing at all levels and in various environments with a diversity, equity, and inclusion lens. Manage the application or renewal process for Early Achievers and other accreditations as assigned.Direct the development and operations of assigned early education center(s), including managing enrollment goals, expansion opportunities, and understanding local market demand through community assessments. Coordinate tours and follow-up for new inquiries.Develop and manage the budget(s) related to the position (typical range $800K - $2M). Monitor revenue and expenses to meet targets.Provide leadership and direction to the staff team through observation, coaching, and performance management. Collaborate with Human Resources for support on performance management. Support staff to maintain program schedules.Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate staff and volunteers. Conduct staff meetings and trainings. Maintain required staff/child ratios and ongoing professional development requirements.Review and approve program plans, including lesson, behavior, and event plans.Develop collaborative relationships with local YMCA facilities, other programs, and community organizations to ensure success and growth of the program areas. Maintain relationships with children, parents/guardians, staff, and community stakeholders.Maintain required records per YMCA and DCYF standards, including attendance, immunizations, registrations, accident reports, discipline records, and fire evacuation records.Follow YMCA policies and procedures related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergency procedures. Communicate confidential and evaluative information with parents/guardians as needed. Report critical issues in a timely manner to your supervisor.Ensure safety and upkeep of facilities and equipment. Coordinate with facility staff to ensure DCYF standards are met. Ensure developmentally appropriate classrooms with suitable materials and appearance for Early Achievers Accreditation.Supervise children to ensure health and safety and provide a positive experience. May prepare and serve meals/snacks. Maintain required certifications and training.Provide leadership and support for annual fundraising campaigns and volunteer committees/boards as assigned.
