Position SummaryThe Senior Instructional Materials Developer position within The Learning Design Group involves applying deep expertise in the development of science instructional materials as part of a highly collaborative team to design, revise, and support the implementation of high-quality instructional materials, including curriculum and/or assessments. The position may include serving as a supervisor. This position may be performed remotely anywhere within the United States, and fully remote candidates will be considered.ResponsibilitiesImplements design frameworks and pedagogical approaches in the design and development of new science curriculum content, including teacher and student materials.Uses considerable discretion to determine methods, approaches, and procedures for current and new curriculum and program development.Leads, mentors, and provides work direction and feedback to Learning Design Group team members.May serve as supervisor of record.Professional development/other duties as assigned.May develop and/or deliver awareness presentations or professional learning workshops about the curriculum or its approaches.Required QualificationsDeep understanding of three-dimensional, phenomenon-driven teaching and learning as specified by the National Research Council/'s Framework for K-12 Science Education and the Next Generation Science Standards.Experience developing instructional materials for use at a national scale.Experience analyzing and applying adoption criteria for science instructional materials.Expertise in K-5 science education.Working knowledge of Amplify Science curriculum.Ability to manage complex work and achieve specified goals under time and resource constraints.Ability to collaborate effectively in a variety of groups across a variety of contexts.Thorough and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.Skill in using business software systems in the completion of work assignments; e.g., Google Suite, Miro, , Word, Excel, PowerPoint, cloud-based file storage systems.Experience as a supervisor of record.Continuing education in related field required.Bachelor/'s degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.Preferred QualificationsClassroom teaching experience.Project management experience.Experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders in product design (e.g., content developers, vendors, editors, and designers).Expertise in one or more of the following areas: Supporting multilingual learners; Designing for or working with historically marginalized populations; Physical science; Earth and space.Salary & BenefitsFor information on the comprehensive benefits package offered by the University, please visit the University of California/'s Compensation & Benefits website. The budgeted annual salary range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $82,800.00 - $116,300.00.
