We are looking for an attorney to assist our current legal and right-of-way acquisition team to handle the recent and continued rapid growth to our business along with our increasingly complex legal and real property work.Role DescriptionA strong candidate will partner with the VP & General Counsel and Senior Right of Way Managers to assist with the department’s legal work and right-of-way acquisition objectives. Drafts and negotiates various routine business agreements with emphasis on real property and right-of-way agreements; researches laws, investigates facts, and prepares documents to assist the company in performing day-to-day business activities. This role will report to the VP & General Counsel.ResponsibilitiesDrafts, reviews and negotiates a wide range of real property agreements for a dark fiber services operating company, including easements, encroachments, railroad crossings and other real property license agreements, real estate purchase agreements with title research, land use and zoning assessments, and municipal franchise and other public right-of-way agreements.Drafts, reviews and negotiates additional business agreements including customer agreements and related service orders, vendor agreements, and non-disclosure agreements, and provides assistance on asset purchase agreements and other company financing activities.Researches federal, state and local laws; drafts and implements policies to ensure compliance with such laws; keeps up to date on pending legislation and regulations and assists with developing strategies to respond pletes and files various regulatory reports, license applications and forms as necessary to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.Drafts correspondence and administrative pleadings; assists with managing outside counsel.Assists with general organization of legal department operations.Other duties may be assigned.QualificationsJuris Doctor (JD) degree and must be licensed by at least one state bar, with preference for a Virginia bar license.2-4 years of experience in law firm or in-house legal department.Experience within the telecommunications industry is preferred.BenefitsWe offer a comprehensive benefits package including 100% employee covered health, dental, vision, life, disability, additional voluntary life insurance, paid time off, cell phone allowance, and a generous 401(k) match policy. #J-18808-Ljbffr
