OverviewBusiness Consulting - Healthcare - Patient Access - Manager at EY. As a manager within EY’s Health consulting practice, you’ll work with clients across the healthcare industry to transform operations to meet evolving market demands, leveraging your industry knowledge and relationship skills.The opportunityAs part of EY’s Health consulting practice, you will work with clients across the country to solve complex problems in today’s healthcare environment. We are seeking a highly motivated Manager focused on provider operations, specifically patient access, to manage client engagement teams, work with a variety of clients to deliver professional services, and manage business development activities on strategic and global priority accounts.Your Key ResponsibilitiesYou’ll spend most of your time teaming with our provider team, working with a broad spectrum of not-for-profit and for-profit healthcare clients—including hospitals, healthcare systems, physician practices and academic medical centers—to assess and redesign clinical processes. As a Manager in our Health consulting group focused on Provider Operations, you’ll work with clients in the following areas:Operational improvementBenchmarking and financial quantificationCost reduction/revenue enhancementWorkflow redesignPatient access initiatives including template management, template optimization, and scheduling algorithmsSkills And Attributes For SuccessEffectively manage and motivate client engagement teams with diverse skills and backgrounds. Foster an innovative and inclusive, team-oriented environment. Mentor junior consultants.Build relationships with client personnel at appropriate levels. Deliver quality client services. Ensure high-quality work products are produced on time and within budget. Monitor progress, manage risk, and keep stakeholders informed.Cultivate and manage business development opportunities. Understand EY and its service lines; actively assess and present how to serve clients. Develop and maintain long-term client relationships and networks.Demonstrate in-depth technical capabilities and professional knowledge.To qualify for the role you must haveA bachelor’s degree with approximately 5 years of related experience; or a master’s degree with approximately 4 years of related experienceApproximately 4 years of healthcare consulting experience, preferably with prior experience as a manager (or higher)Required experience with patient access and centralized contact centersAbility to lead patient access initiatives including clinician management, template management, template optimization, referral management, and scheduling algorithms; experience in design and implementation within an ambulatory settingExperience with centralization of patient access functions, including contact center staffing models and engagement-channel technologyAbility to read and interpret hospital financial statements and contract terms; use complex financial models; map operational processes; and participate in healthcare cost reduction planning and implementationExperience with healthcare organization M&A, physician alignment, or financial margin improvement initiativesExperience selling and delivering projects across the full life cycle of assessment, design, and implementationAbility to generate revenue within existing healthcare clients and develop new prospects at the C-level of large healthcare companiesAbility to manage a team of staff/senior consulting professionalsAbility to work collaboratively in a team environment (knows when to lead and when to follow)Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and excellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to create work products using Microsoft Office tools (Excel models, Visio scheduling and referral workflows, PowerPoint presentations)A willingness to travel to meet client needs; travel as requiredIdeally you’ll also haveA degree with emphasis in Finance, Accounting, and/or Business; CPA, MBA, MHA and/or MPHWhat We Look ForWe’re interested in passionate leaders with strong vision and a desire to stay on top of trends in the healthcare industry.
