The successful candidate will be responsible for managing Workers' Compensation and other Casualty lines through Independent Agents with a specialization in construction. This role requires close collaboration with Middle Market Product Line Teams and the Construction Industry Practice to implement underwriting strategies, develop consistent standards for account-level referrals, and track and analyze claim trends to provide actionable recommendations. Key responsibilities for the VP, Portfolio Manager include working with actuarial resources for data analyses, partnering with the corporate reinsurance team for cost-benefit analyses, and evaluating pricing to ensure it meets adequacy and compliance guidelines. The role also involves conducting regular portfolio reviews, overseeing the execution of portfolio production and profit KPIs, and utilizing portfolio data analysis for the annual underwriting audit. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial insurance, particularly in the construction sector, and a proven track record in portfolio management, underwriting, and strategic decision-making.
