The successful candidate will serve as the chief legal executive for the segment, providing proactive legal and strategic guidance across a global portfolio of technology and software products. This role is pivotal in driving legal strategy to support product commercialization, market expansion, partnerships, M&A, and regulatory compliance. The General Counsel will be a key member of the leadership team, collaborating with executive peers and ensuring that legal strategy aligns with the broader enterprise goals. Key responsibilities include serving as the primary legal advisor to the segment's President and senior leadership, leading legal strategy for global growth initiatives, and managing complex legal agreements. The role also involves advising on international expansion, supporting M&A activities, and overseeing legal operations impacting the business segment. Applicants for the Vice President, General Counsel position at the company should have a JD from an accredited law school, be licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, and have 10-12+ years of legal experience, with a significant portion in-house at a technology company. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in technology law, including software, SaaS, AI, data use/privacy, cybersecurity, and commercial contracts. Strong commercial instincts, excellent communication skills, and the ability to influence business strategy on a global scale are essential. Experience in international regulatory compliance, IP risk management, and managing legal teams or outside counsel is also required. The role demands a leader who can balance legal risk with business objectives and is capable of mentoring and developing legal talent within the organization.
