The CFOO will be a key partner with the Head of School and the Board of Trustees, overseeing the strategic financial vision, risk management, and leading the business office, facilities, and technology support. This role is highly visible and integral to the school community, requiring a professional with a collaborative spirit, extensive experience, and a strong background in financial and operational management. The successful candidate will be responsible for long-term financial planning, budget processes, and will have the opportunity to refine these processes to ensure transparency and consistency. The ideal CFOO for the company will have a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred), CPA and/or MBA, and at least 10 years' of proven managerial and planning capabilities. They should be passionate about continuous process improvement, possess strong financial management skills, and have experience in debt financing and contract negotiation. The role also involves working closely with the Board of Trustees, the Director of Admission and Financial Aid, and overseeing relationships with vendors and lessees. The CFOO must be highly analytical, detail-oriented, and have excellent communication skills, with a collaborative leadership style that aligns with the company's core values. Experience in the nonprofit sector, particularly in a boarding school environment, and knowledge of environmentally-friendly business practices, IT security, and independent school operations are all considered a plus.
