Join our team and be a part of a 36-year legacy that continues to serve the Southern Region of Texas!Assistant SuperintendentJob SummarySchedule and supervise landscape construction and irrigation crew's daily activities.Demonstrate role model behavior through Core Values while promoting company culture.Collaborate with branch/project manager, superintendents and field personnel regularly to foster positive work environment.Provide recommendations for crew staff changes, promotions, wage adjustments and staffing limits to project manager and superintendent.Assist fellow employees with HR requests as needed i.e., vacation request, raises, etc.Adhere to and enforce all company policies.Assist in managing labor force without incurring overtime unless directed by project manager.Monitor and document progress of landscape and irrigation crews daily via daily reports.Participate in weekly production meetings and engage to benefit from discussions.Maintain quality control over installation, reviewing and instructing foremen and crews in proper techniques, and skills, allowing for their advancement.Assist crews as necessary to maintain good production and adherence to project specifications, schedule and budgets.Ensure best use of tools and equipment to complete project. Keep all rentals to a minimum and call off rent immediately after use.Maintain communication with project managers and superintendents regarding scheduling, project progress, client requests, material/ equipment demand, changing site conditions and warranty work.Maintain close communication and provide daily reports to the Maldonado superintendent, project manager/branch managerAssist in generating pre-construction documents prior to starting a new project.Attend and participate in pre-construction meetings.Inspect jobs daily for quality and efficiency and sequencing of work.Ensure that dig permits are being completed properly and on time.Respond promptly to any jobsite related problems, and quickly efficiently resolve.Ensure security and maintenance of plant materials on site and monitor for proper care and maintenance.Respond promptly to any watering problems on jobs in progress or recently completed.Coordinate with superintendent to mobilize equipment to projects coordinating with all operations personnel.Ensure projects are delivered to client according to plans, specifications and schedule.Strive to exceed client expectations.Assist in care and maintenance of the office and yard.Conduct "in-house" walk through upon completion of each job, to include assembly and completion of punch list items in preparation for substantial completion walk through.Assist superintendent with "as-builts".Inspect crews daily to ensure the personnel have the proper attire and PPE.Inspect equipment and vehicles daily to ensure fleet is clean, safe and in good working order.Complete work orders for repairs to equipment and vehicles.Assist in management of equipment/truck database and ensure routine maintenance occurs and is logged.Communicate with shop and fleet manager to ensure proper care and maintenance, efficient usage and staging of fleet vehicles and equipment.Complete monthly equipment and vehicle inspection forms including inspection of safety equipment and first aid kits.Assist in conducting safety meetings, weekly at a minimum, and promote safety to field team on a regular basis and assist superintendent in weekly toolbox talks with crews.Remain at the office in the evenings until all crews are accounted for. Ensure trucks and gates are secure.Ensure all punch lists are 100% complete and job is closed out.Qualifications Required-3+ years of experience in landscape construction as a Foreman or Assistant Superintendent. Landscape construction such as new installation, hardscape, or irrigation-Bilingual in Spanish is heavily preferred-Valid Driver's License`
