Job Title: Project Manager Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Project Manager with a strong understanding of project budgets, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination. The ideal candidate will proactively manage project phases, optimize cash flow, and maintain clear communication with all stakeholders. This role requires both in-office work and on-site project management. Responsibilities + Understand and monitor project budgets, ensuring real-time awareness of budget status. + Prepare monthly Estimate at Completion (EAC) reports for assigned projects. + Conduct variance analyses and implement corrective actions to prevent discrepancies. + Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve budget performance. + Ensure team alignment with project schedules and drive proactive progress. + Plan manpower needs and coordinate with internal resource management. + Develop and maintain project schedules using tools like MS Project. + Document delays, scope changes, and other timeline impacts. + Create and manage schedules of values for positive cash flow. + Maintain an over-billed position to ensure each project's financial health. + Track receivables and resolve project-related payment issues. + Manage the pay approval process to expedite billing cycles. + Solicit and evaluate subcontractor proposals in line with budgets. + Negotiate favorable terms and ensure proper contract execution. + Validate subcontractor billing and ensure contract compliance. + Conduct site visits and oversee subcontractor performance with weekly progress meetings. + Maintain professional communication with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams. + Organize project documentation according to company standards. + Represent the company professionally in meetings and advocate for its interests. + Manage change orders for client-driven and company-driven changes. + Mentor team members on proposing and closing change orders. Essential Skills + Minimum of 4 years' experience in Project Management. + 2+ years' experience in Building Automation and HVAC controls. + Strong financial and budget management skills. + Proficient in BAS (Building Automation Systems), Gantt charts. + Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project, and Access. + Ability to lead and motivate teams. + Excellent problem-solving, planning, and project management skills. + Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in Construction, HVAC, Building Automation, Petrochem, Nuclear, W/WW industries preferred. + Capable of climbing ladders or using lift equipment over 8 feet and lifting items up to 20lbs. + AA/AS degree or 3+ years' experience in Project Management. + General knowledge of employment laws and practices. + Demonstrated knowledge of project financial reporting. Work Environment The role involves working both in the office and on project sites, with approximately 50% of the time spent on each. Travel is primarily to sites within 100-150 miles, with minimal overnight travel required (maximum of 10%). The candidate will be responsible for driving their own vehicle, with mileage reimbursement provided and future eligibility for a company vehicle. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Antonio, Texas. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $45.67 - $52.88/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
