JOB SUMMARY This position is great opportunity to learn all Zetec's product lines and our unique market of inspecting critical tubing found in various power generating plants located worldwide. You will also receive training within the NDT (non-destructive testing) field of ET (Eddy Current testing). You will become an expert field technician able to diagnose and support the global fleet of Zetec equipment, probes, and software. As a proficient Field Service Specialist, you will provide technical support to internal and external customers. You will collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, Calibration and Repair, Systems, and other groups within Zetec to define technical application solutions that meet our customers' needs. There will be travel opportunities to customer facilities around the world where you will be the trusted advisor and face of Zetec as you help solve their critical inspection needs. You will be asked to provide both product and ET certification training assisting our worldclass training department. The career ladder for this position will provide vast opportunities in the niche market of NDT and ET. Once proficient with data acquisition, you will learn the science of data analysis to successfully analyze and interpret the data collected. You may become an expert automated data analyst utilizing Zetec's fleet of software programs and tools found in the RevospECT platform. INITIAL JOB FUNCTIONS * On the job internal training on Eddy Current theory and practical use. * On the job training and educate yourself with Zetec's products lines with initial focus on ET testers and robotic systems (ZR-100, MIZ-80, etc.) * Work in Zetec's manufacturing departments to gain firsthand product experience building, repairing, and installing Zetec hardware. * Become proficient in the Zetec mockup setting up equipment and performing eddy current data acquisition on test samples. * Engage and commit to a lot of self-learning opportunities to increase working knowledge of Zetec's hardware and software. * Successfully pass internal training courses to obtain Eddy Current Level I and Level II certification within one (1) year. FIELD SERVICE FUNCTIONS (after training) * Perform Field Service activities including but not limited to, inspections of tubing in nuclear steam generators and condensers. Activities may include data acquisition, technical support, repairs and calibration of Zetec equipment and direct interface with customer. * Participate in inspection activities to provide technical advice and consultation, acquire real time firsthand product performance information; and provide summary reports to other Zetec stakeholders as required (e.g. Product Management, Engineering, etc.). * Participate in customer inquiry responses for technical support on Zetec's tracking system. * Perform installations, electrical and mechanical repairs, and overall systems troubleshooting in a radiological controlled environment as needed. * Analyze, diagnose, and troubleshoot malfunctions of instruments and/or equipment and perform necessary steps to repair equipment. Communicate with customers to understand failure mechanisms as required. * Make suggestions to Engineering Department to improve the fabrication or function of the equipment and/or checkout of the equipment. * Provide training and collaboration with other members of the team. * Assist the Training department by providing Level I and Level II ET certification classes * Perform necessary pre-inspection preparation activities to ensure success in field. * Ability to work independently and represent Zetec in a professional manner. * Support Product Test and Verification & Validation activities as required. * Other duties as required in support of the department and the company. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE * Trade school or military career highly preferred. * AA degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent experience preferred. * Three years of electro-mechanical experience, or equivalent preferred. * Experience proctoring technical training in a classroom environment. * Experience working within the requirements of a structured quality program preferred. * Experience working with Zetec products preferred. * Demonstrated leadership experience preferred. * Direct experience in performing NDE (Non-Destructive Evaluation) activities is a plus. * Experience supporting and instructing customers in technical areas both independently and as a team preferred. Average hearing is sufficient. • Drug screening required for this position to include marijuana. This individual may work in a production area with fumes from alcohol acetone, adhesives, sealants, and solder flux. When traveling may work in a radiological controlled environment. Fluctuating requirements of this position may include periods of working long hours and under tight deadlines. Please refer to the SDS documentation in this department for specific details regarding chemical exposure.
