Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Midlothian, Illinois. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial records, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and supporting the organization's overall accounting operations. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong understanding of accounting principles. SALARY: $90k - $130k Benefits: MED, VISION, DENTAL, 401k Responsibilities: - Prepare and file corporate tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. - Manage sales tax filings and resolve any related discrepancies. - Record and reconcile journal entries to maintain accurate financial records. - Oversee the general ledger to ensure proper account balances and classifications. - Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial data for reporting purposes. - Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely reporting. - Monitor and analyze financial transactions to maintain accuracy and integrity. - Provide support for audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries. - Identify opportunities for process improvements within accounting operations. Requirements - Proven experience in corporate tax preparation and compliance. - Strong knowledge of sales tax regulations and filing procedures. - Proficiency in managing journal entries and maintaining general ledger accounts. - Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards. - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. - Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite. - Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. - Strong communication and organizational abilities.
