Primary PurposeResponsible for the accurate, timely processing of payroll for multiple entities/locations, ensuring compliance with federal, state/provincial and local laws and regulations. Handles deductions, garnishments, taxes, payroll adjustments, and works with other teams (HR, Legal, Tax) to resolve payroll-related issues.Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesProcess payroll cycles (weekly, biweekly, monthly) including time & attendance data, earnings, deductions, taxes, and all related payroll entries.Enter and maintain payroll deductions (garnishments, child support, liens, etc.), ensuring all are correctly set up, applied, and remitted.Ensure correct tax withholding and compliance across multiple tax jurisdictions (federal, state/provincial, local).Audit payroll data for accuracy before submissions/transmissions; verify time sheets, payroll inputs & outputs.Respond to payroll inquiries from employees & internal departments; resolve discrepancies in pay, deductions, tax withholdings.Assure compliance with regulatory requirements (FLSA, local/state tax laws, wage & hour rules) and internal policies.Maintain payroll and employee records. Update changes to employee status, wage changes, time-off, etc.Support month-end or period-end close (journal entries needed for payroll, accruals, reconciliations)Generate payroll reports / documentation for audits or management review.Backup or assist more senior payroll staff as needed.
