Military Vehicle & Equipment Technician

Overview The Vermont Military Department is looking for a Military Vehicle & Equipment Technician to work primarily at Camp Johnson in Colchester. Military Vehicle & Equipment Technician are responsible for maintenance work across multiple Equipment types including but limited to: * Loaders * Lawn tractors/mowers * Trimmers * Dump trucks * Snowplows and sanders * Generators Military Vehicle & Equipment Technician also maintain the grounds, roads and training areas requiring snow removal in the winter months. May be responsible for operating heavy equipment, including loaders, excavators, dozers and heavy trucks equipped with plows and wings. Additionally, qualified candidates will have: * Knowledge of the methods, practices, tools and materials used in vehicle maintenance and repair work. * Knowledge of safety procedures required when performing in automotive and equipment repair * Ability to follow instructions. * Ability to work independently. * Ability to complete assignments correctly, and in a safe and timely manner. * Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors.
