We are looking for a dynamic, forward-thinking Aviation Architecture Project Director – Terminal Planner to help lead major terminal planning efforts at some of the country’s largest and most iconic airports. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical and communication skills, a passion for aviation planning, and a curiosity-driven mindset when tackling design challenges. As Project Director, you’ll drive innovative terminal planning strategies, lead critical pursuits, and support delivery across HNTB’s expanding aviation portfolio. You will:Contribute to win strategies and guide project execution to ensure efficient, high-quality resultsServe as the lead client liaison, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with exceptional client satisfactionManage diverse project tasks—including research, design studies, data and feasibility analysis, massing and program studies, design documentation, and coordination across disciplinesLead and mentor terminal planning teams through concept development to project completionTake on task lead responsibilities and, on occasion, serve as Project Manager on select medium to large-scale effortsWhat You/'ll DoHas full responsibility for managing all aspects of mega projectsPrepares strategic plans for project successResponsible for the coordination of all project efforts, administrative and technical, to assure the most efficient and cost-effective execution of assigned projectsServes as primary liaison contact with the clients to bring projects to completion on schedule, within budget and with maximum client satisfactionProvides oversight and monitoring of work to less experienced project managersActively manages client’s budget, schedule and program; HNTB budget and schedule; project communications and documentation; office administrative tasks; and project team assignmentsEstimates fees, determines scope of work, and prepares proposals and contracts on the most complex projects of the largest magnitudeCoordinates work efforts and reviews work performedProvides for quality managementActs as a champion for the teamResponsible for hiring, firing, promotion, discipline, performance review, work allocation, training and mentoring of staffPerforms other duties as assignedWhat You/'ll NeedBachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field and 15 years of relevant experienceWhat We Prefer20 years of experienceMaster’s degreeRAAdditional InformationBenefits information: HNTB Total RewardsEqual Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran informationVisa sponsorship is not available for this position. #EL #Architecture #LI-EL1Locations:Atlanta, GADallas, TXDenver, COKansas City, MOLos Angeles, CA (Figueroa Street)New York, NYTampa, FLThe approximate pay ranges are provided for reference and may vary by location: New York: $176,192.06 - $351,812.06; Los Angeles Metro Area and Orange County, CA: $202,620.86 - $323,667.10; Colorado: $193,811.25 - $309,594.62.
