This role provides leadership and operational management for cancer business development, clinical affiliations and outreach within Affiliations and Networks, advancing Duke Health System (DUHS) cancer programs and affiliate relationships. Position DescriptionResponsibilitiesStrategy and Planning: Collaborate with DUHS (including DHIP), DCI, SOM and SON senior leaders to develop and support growth strategies based on market analysis, revenue potential and brand protection. Create tactical plans with direct reports to execute strategic initiatives. Identify, develop and manage new business opportunities to maximize growth and network portfolio. Engage in internal departmental collaboration to develop and support department strategy, goals, and tactics.Coordination And Communication: Develop and foster collaboration across Duke Health to advance cancer clinical and research affiliations. Work with the DCN Medical Director/Chief Medical Officer in a dyad leadership relationship to align strategic, operational and clinical priorities while preserving shared accountability. Build productive physician relationships and ensure effective communication of affiliation initiatives to internal and external stakeholders. Partner with internal and external marketing teams to optimize communication; manage co-branding strategies for Duke Cancer Network; provide forums for staff input; oversee education highlighting Duke experts and affiliate program needs.Operations Management: Oversee DCN leaders in measuring affiliation effectiveness and efficiency. Lead program assessments and actionable follow-up recommendations. Serve on the departmental executive leadership team to support a systems approach across all Affiliations and Networks programs. Improve operational and business processes to enhance efficiency and affiliate service. Identify opportunities to improve fiscal and operational performance.Supervisory And Personnel Management: Directly manage a team of Senior Directors/Directors supporting strategic and operational initiatives of the DCN and DHAN. Collaboratively manage provider clinical services at affiliated programs.Performance Management And Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with legislative, regulatory and accrediting requirements. Ensure compliance with applicable research rules and guidelines. Monitor affiliate programs to meet DUHS criteria for program participation. Communicate program progress to site and Duke Health leadership.Fiscal Management: Oversee department budgets and financial targets. Oversee revenue cycle and billing for assigned departments. Collaborate with Duke Health senior leadership to secure resources to fulfill the DCN affiliations’ cumbent will serve as a role model and resource for professional colleagues and participate in leadership activities and committees, professional organizations, publishing, teaching and research. QualificationsRequired Qualifications At This LevelEducation: Master’s degree in a related field is required; healthcare and oncology concentration strongly preferred.Experience: Minimum five years’ experience in hospital operations, including at least three years at the administrative leadership level.
