OverviewThe Aloft Mountainview is a 160-room boutique hotel located near Googleplex in Mountain View, California. We offer health & wellness programs, learning and development opportunities, travel discounts, and a culture of caring where you belong, you matter, and you shine bright.ResponsibilitiesAs the Accounting Manager, you will direct financial activities of the property, safeguard assets, and prepare all financial reports in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).Provide consistent leadership in the financial area of the property and maintain accurate and timely financial reporting.Enforce internal controls and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.Offer oversight, guidance, and training to the property team while coordinating department deadlines and goals.Reconcile all ledger accounts (bank statements, assets, liabilities, credit cards) and review balance sheet accounts with detailed support monthly, clearing reconciling items as needed.Prepare monthly journal entries and coordinate the monthly closing process, including financial statement preparation, variance analysis, and budget explanations.Audit and approve balance sheet and P&L general ledger detail; ensure month-end closing is complete, timely, and accurate.Monitor inventory records to control asset distribution and liaise with operating departments.Record hotel revenues, expenses, cash, credit cards, tax exemptions, and statistics daily; ensure accurate posting to the general ledger.Implement and/or adapt Standard Operating Procedures and train staff to enforce SOPs across departments.Maintain deposit and cash control worksheets; process and reconcile deposits (cash, credit cards, city ledger) and other bank transactions.Oversee Accounts Receivable processes, including timely billing and collections.Manage cash handling controls and auditing of cash banks within the general cashier functions.Coordinate internal and external audit processes and ensure compliance with financial controls.Monitor and complete internal controls including purchasing, cash handling, disbursements, inventories, hotel assets, and payroll; ensure payroll submissions are accurate and timely.Assist with People and Culture functions such as job postings, onboarding, and document uploads as needed.Prepare cash flow documents and maintain cross-department communication to ensure smooth inter-department information flow (Sales, Food & Beverage, Front Office, Reservations).Maintain and safeguard contracts, licenses, leases, and ensure compliance with their requirements.Represent the organisation professionally, train staff, and promote high standards of internal control and financial advisory.Identify and resolve problems promptly through information gathering and analysis; demonstrate project management skills to plan, coordinate, and complete projects on time and within municate effectively and follow all policies and procedures; perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsAny combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.Minimum 3 years of progressive management experience in the hotel or hospitality industry.Strong accounting skills with a focus on reconciliation of general ledger accounts.Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling.Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks.Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.High degree of professional integrity; ability to work safely, effectively, and efficiently.Flexible schedule to meet business needs, operations, and financial reporting pensation range for the position is $60k-$65k annually. The salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors including experience, education, and location.
